Welcome to a special episode. And as you can see, we're in a new place today. So this is our new HQ for BAE HQ. And we're doing up at the moment. That's why you've got this fairly plain brick background here. But over there, we'll be making a podcast studio, which is a new evolution of what we're doing. Right. So we're over 200 episodes in now, but we've been hiring studios, we've been doing different places, and now we're bringing that in house, which is really exciting for us. And we the new office. And what it means for us is that we now have the place to expand. We can get more people here, we can grow the team. We can also get the podcast guests to come to us, which means each of the podcast guests meets the entire team, rather than just me.

And it means we can be so much more fluid and flexible with what we're doing. So as part of this, obviously what you're going to notice if you're watching this on YouTube or if you're watching on Spotify, is there's going to be a new background. That's one part of it. But. But what it also means is that we're no longer strained by the same problems we had before. So before, if a podcast guest was running late, we had to try and quickly get the episode finished. Now, because we're in studio, that doesn't matter as much. It means we can go over time. It means we can do so much more than we're doing before. So right now, as you can see, I'm on this chair here. You can see what I'm sitting on.

And what we're going to have is a few more chairs, which means that we can do round table in the futures in the future, so we can do roundtable episodes, which means that we can do more variation. What we're also going to do is get founders who've been on 200 episodes ago to show where they are today. So some examples of that include Raj Thiruchelvarajah, who was episode number four when he first came on. He just raised his pre seed. He was quite early on. He was one of those first people who believed in us. And what we're trying to do here, and what we're going to do is show where he's now got to. So now his technology has been used by NASA, it's been used by sports teams all across the world, and he's raised a couple of million since then.

So we can showcase. Here's what some people are Doing that have been part of this story from the beginning. And people like Varun Bhanot, who came in the early days too, he's now gone on to raise several million as well. Reece Chowdhury it's episode 14 and since then it's invested in unicorns and done so much more. So there's me much more fluidity, much more flexibility. I'm going to be much more off the cuff. Whereas before we had to be quite rigid because we had a podcast for a certain amount of time we had to get the booking all those different systems in. So that's quite exciting on that front. Right. So going forward, this podcast, it won't be the same structure that you might have seen in the past and hopefully you like that structure.

But for me, 200 episodes in what it means I can have so much more freedom to do different things. So if you're listening to this right now and you want us to try different types of episodes and try different things, let us know and we'll have it and we'll give it a go. And a key part of this really is that our focus and our niche is still the same. What we focus on here are people building high growth businesses, scalable companies and people really transforming and revolutionizing their industries. And people have already done that. So we're not going to suddenly start interviewing people from completely different backgrounds that are totally irrelevant. But what we can do is get multiple of them at the same time.

03:13

We can try out different formats, we can do episodes which more deep dives on specific areas and so much more like that. So hopefully you're excited about what we've got to come and check out the episodes coming out soon. So the next couple of episodes I believe were recorded before the new studio. So you'll start to see the new changes take effect in mid February and can't wait to see your feedback on what you think. But yeah, for those of you who don't know too, there's so much been going on the BayHQ recently amongst expansion amongst Office Move. So we've got a base startup foundations course which you can take for free. We've got a few big events coming up soon as well and we've got our big opportunities programs too.

So if you're not subscribed to the newsletter already, you can go to thebayhq.com join and you'll also see in that newsletter our weekly scoreboard which has four key things we're tracking. So that's going to be the total number of event attendees we have this year. So we're targeting 3,000 people and last year was about 1,500 to about 2,000. The total number of people attending our student events, again, the target is 3,000. So that's a big upgrade on last year, the number of work experience allocations. We're doing so working with five pilot state schools to get those kids from those backgrounds into startups and high growth companies that wouldn't have had the opportunity otherwise. And that's the way that we think we can use our community to really make a difference. And the final one there too is Hero content.

04:44
Amardeep Parmar

So hero content essentially means the big things like this. So the podcast, the news coverage, and we can chop up those big hero content pieces into different slices in different social media. But we're not going to count all of those individual post. It's more about the main piece of content. And one of the things that's really important too is that if you want to help us achieve this, you can. So you can give your time and give your energy or you can give your money. And it really depends on where you're at, what your position is and how you can help. So if you can support us, the links are going to be in the show. Notes would be amazing. And what difference can we all make when we work together?
