Beena Sharma
Beena Sharma is a dynamic leader and entrepreneur dedicated to advancing carbon management and sustainability. As the CEO and Co-Founder of CCU International since August 2022, she leads a pioneering initiative that deploys patented technologies to capture and utilize carbon dioxide (CO2) from industrial emissions. Under her leadership, CCU International has developed scalable solutions, supporting businesses of all sizes with systems capable of capturing CO2 volumes ranging from 300 kg to hundreds of tonnes daily. These innovative systems not only address emissions but also repurpose captured CO2 into valuable industrial materials like plastics, concrete, and biofuel, aligning with global net-zero targets.
In addition to her work at CCU International, Beena co-founded several impactful organizations. At IntoNetZero, she spearheads efforts to foster diverse leadership in the energy sector, while Women in New Energy (W.I.N.E.) celebrates and empowers women shaping the future of sustainable energy through mentoring, networking, and collaboration. Her extensive experience also includes roles in the Society for Low Carbon Technologies and CCS Brasil, where she contributes to advancing low-carbon innovations globally.
