Nafissa is currently the CEO at Halal Gems,  a halal food discovery platform, was acquired by Amaliah in February 2019. She co-founded and serves as the CEO of Amaliah, a media platform that aims to amplify the voices of Muslim women.

Nafissa Bakkar pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Natural Sciences from 2011 to 2014. During this time, she completed internships in the field, including a role as a Petrochemical and Energy Intern at Jacobs Consultancy from 2012 to 2013, and as a Bioenergy Intern at BBSRC in August 2013 to September 2013.

Her involvement with Enactus - UCL (University College London) spanned various roles, starting with Project Manager from September 2012 to September 2013.

She continued her contributions as a Marketing Officer from November 2012 to January 2013 and later served as Project Director / Vice President from January 2013 to March 2014.

Following her academic journey, Nafissa Bakkar worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Founders & Coders from September 2014 to December 2014.

She then took on the role of Entrepreneurship Coordinator at University College London from June 2014 to June 2015.

In 2016, she co-founded and serves as the CEO of Amaliah.

in February 2019, became and currently holds the  CEO at Halal Gems.

She has been recognised by Forbes 30 under 30.
