Puneet Chhabra

Puneet Chhabra, co-founder of Headlight AI, ACUA Ocean, and now Head of Software at QLM Technology.

He pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The University of Edinburgh.

Puneet began his career as a Systems Operation Specialist at IBM in February 2007, providing server and backend support.

He then pursued an internship at SeeByte from May 2008 to August 2008. In January 2009, he joined BAE Systems as a Research Scientist, where he continued until February 2012.

He advanced to the position of Higher Scientist at BAE Systems, serving from May 2012 to December 2012.

Transitioning to Continental in January 2013, Puneet worked as a Research Associate until July 2013.

He briefly moved to Carbomap in December 2015, serving as a Software Development Consultant until May 2017.

During this time, he pursued a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Compressed Sensing for LiDAR, Radar, and Sonar at Heriot-Watt University from September 2013 to October 2017.

Following his doctoral studies, Puneet became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University, where he worked from August 2017 to November 2017.

In November 2017, he co-founded Headlight AI, where he served as the Chief Technology Officer until March 2022, after which he transitioned to the role of Non-Executive Director.

Concurrently, in September 2021, he co-founded ACUA Ocean, initially as the CTO, and later transitioning to the role of CTO Emeritus in January 2023.

Puneet continued to expand his career by becoming the Head of Software at QLM Technology Ltd in January 2023, and he remains in this role while  serving as the CTO Emeritus at ACUA Ocean and co-founder and Non-Executive Director at Headlight AI, as of his most recent professional updates.
