Yang Lu
Yang Lu has made significant contributions to the field of technology and engineering, primarily focusing on machine learning and intelligent systems. As the Co-Founder and CTO of VivaCity, a role he held from January 2015 until transitioning to a part-time Technical Founder role in March 2024, Yang led the development of advanced computer vision technologies. VivaCity specializes in intelligent camera solutions that monitor and predict pedestrian and vehicle movements, aiming to transform the transport industry through data-driven optimization of transport networks.
Before his groundbreaking work at VivaCity, Yang gathered a wealth of experience in various high-tech roles. As a consultant at TTP plc from October 2013 to October 2014, he was involved in multi-disciplinary projects that ranged from high-speed genetic sequencing to explosives detection equipment. Additionally, he served as the Technical Director for Cambridge University Eco Racing, where he managed the development of a solar-powered racing car with a team of students, overcoming financial and resource limitations to meet critical deadlines. His early career also included a stint as a Systems Engineer at McLaren Racing in 2012, where he worked on enhancing tyre pressure telemetry systems for Formula 1 cars, showcasing his versatility and technical acumen across different aspects of engineering and technology.
