Bae HQ Legacy Programmes

Bae HQ is now focused on our Startup Baesics, IncuBaetor, & Baeccelerator!

We've previously run other programmes which have made an impact for 100+ people. We're in many ways a startup ourselves and we learned and tested ideas through these programmes which allow our current ones to be the best they can!

This page is for you to check out the path that led us to where we are.

Mentorship programmes

We ran four cohorts of our mentorship programmes as a way to build up to our eventual InCubaetor and Baeccelerator structure.

We were able to help 95 people across all of the cohorts and we learned a lot along the way!

Cohort 1 - Autumn 2024

35 founders joined our pilot programme and were given a 1:1 mentor.

We were clear with everyone this was our beta and there would be teething problems!

Many mistakes were made but many founders had a great experience!

Cohort 2 - Winter 2025

20 founders joined our second programme for founders with some returning after taking part in cohort 1.

We introduced weekly workshops with sessions from us and our network and trialled using our members platform for a chat interface too.

Cohort 3S - Winter 2025

20 students joined us for our 3rd cohort and our 1st exclusive for students.

This programme had a wide range of mentees. While it had workshops, we struggled with university schedules to align times.

Cohort 4 - Spring 2025

20 startups joined our fourth and final programme.

Criteria to join was the strictest it's been and we switched to a cohort WhatsApp group for bonding them!

Work Experience

School Work Experience

We worked with 5 pilot state schools in 2025 to place 15-17 year old students with startups.

The idea was show the students who otherwise lacked a network to see what's possible for them and dream bigger.

The placements are ongoing and we'd had fantastic feedback from many of the students and employers.

Schools:

  • Ilford County High School
  • Mulberry Stepney Green
  • Uxbridge High School
  • Waingels Wokingham
  • Woodford County High School

We aren't planning on continuing this in 2025 due to the complexity and our lack of resources. We want to expand this programme only once we have the ability to do so.

Uni Interns

We placed 10 university students into startups within our network in summer 2024.

Some of the students seized the opportunity and have continued the relationships with the founders!

We paused this programme for three reasons:

1) We didn't have a big enough pool of students and a high drop out rate of applicants who took other roles.

2) Most applicants came from wealthy backgrounds which contradicted our motivation of social mobility.

3) We didn't have the systems in place to manage this effectively.
