Pocket Giving was born from a conversation between lifelong friends Aamir and Uzeyr in November 2022. Uzeyr, with years of experience working with charities, shared his insights, while Aamir, who views giving as a way of life, asked if there was an app to donate quickly, track donations for Zakat, and get updates on projects.

Uzeyr explained that many had asked the same question, but nothing like it existed. Together, they decided to create Pocket Giving. After months of development, they launched for friends and family in April 2024, followed by a full launch in September 2024.
