Ali Afshar

Ali Afshar is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with a diverse background in biotechnology, hardware startups, and advisory roles. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Mytos since November 2015, Afshar has been at the forefront of revolutionizing biotech processes by developing machines that automate the cultivation of mammalian cells. These innovations are crucial for early-stage drug testing, providing biotech companies with high-quality, reproducible cells while significantly reducing manual labor and time.

In addition to his role at Mytos, Afshar has been serving as a Non-Executive Director at Liberatii since November 2019. He has also contributed as an advisor to Querix from October 2015 to November 2019, where he played a key role in guiding the company through cultural shifts towards lean methodologies and incorporating advanced technologies like containerization. Earlier in his career, Afshar co-founded Vellum Devices Ltd, a hardware startup aimed at creating a digital device that mimics a paper-like experience. His responsibilities included hardware and software development, team management, and pitching for grants. His early experience also includes a software internship at Querix and research assistance at the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton.
